This is part 2 of Tom's (WA2IVD) "Really Long End Fed Antenna."
In this installment, Tom finishes the construction of the antenna and now moves on to measure its performance, SWR, and other parameters.
As expected the antenna without an antenna "tuner" exhibits a high SWR reading on most amater radio HF bands. However, the addition of a "tuner" drops SWR beow 2.0 in most cases and allows Tom to make some excellent contacts without damaging his rig.
Of note is Tom's explanation of why his antenna tuner failed to find a suitable match to his antenna. It seems an switch in the tuner was turned "off"--an easily rectificed problem.
Tom show us some of his interesting QSOs made with this "really long end fed antenna." Overall, an excellent project.
