If you want a surperb HF receiving antenna, please try this "classic" Beverage Antenna from Randy (VA3XV). The Beverage Antenna traces its origin to a "wave antenna" designed by Harold H. Beverage in the early 1920s.
Beverage later held the Amateur Radio Callsign W2BML.
In this video, Randy (VA3XV) shows us step-by-step how he designed, built, tested, and used this very long antenna.
This antenna has excellent directivity and a wider bandwidth than resonant antennas. Howerver, as Randy points out, the size of the Beverage Antenna is huge and lacks the ability to rapidly change its directivity.
This antenna is primarily used for reception, where it shows its real power.
Thanks for joining us today.
